MEP Marija Cornelissen (The Greens) and other MEPs from the Women’s Rights and Gender Equality Committee and the Intergroup on LGBT-Issues explored together with local and European experts the situation of trans rights under the EU gender legislation. According to the Integroup the conference aimed to raise awareness about the legal and social situation of transgender people, as well as the role of European institutions in defending transgender people’s fundamental rights. |
