TGEU and the Scottish Transgender Alliance (STA) hosted a very successful 2 day Capacity Building Seminar in September. The event brought together enthusiastic and committed activists from across Europe, from Ireland to Turkey. All participants agreed that further events were needed to develop greater capacity and networking opportunities within the European trans* movement. TGEU is very grateful to the participants as well as Open Society Institute, ILGA-Europe, STA and the Scottish Governement for their generous support of this event. European Parliament asks WHO to depathologize transgender identities The European parliament calls on the Commission and the WHO – a UN body – to withdraw gender identity disorders from the list of mental and behavioral disorders while ensuring a non-pathologizing re-coding in the 11th version of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11).
Help change the upcoming ICD-11! Global Action for Trans* Equality needs your input! As you may or may not know, the World Health Organization (WHO) has started the process of reviewing the International Classification of Diseases (known as ICD-10). A chance and a challenge! Your participation is key!
