Trans Advocacy Network Meeting: Ten member representatives are invited to meet EU policymakers in Brussels.
Selected participants will meet policymakers from the European Parliament and the European Commission. The programme includes one full day and approximately half a day of institutional meetings.
Planned meetings include the LGBTI Intergroup, the Commissioner for Equality, the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, and supportive Members of the European Parliament.
We aim to bring together participants from different parts of the EU, different organisational settings, racialised communities, gender identities and lived experiences, reflecting the full breadth of TGEU’s membership.
About the meeting
Date & time: 9–11 November 2026
Location: Brussels
Cost: TGEU will organise and cover travel, accommodation, meals, local communication costs and transport within Brussels.
Language: The working language will be English. Unfortunately, interpretation will not be available.

Who can apply
Each organisation may nominate one participant. Applications must meet all of the following conditions:
• The organisation is a registered TGEU member.
• The organisation is based in a European Union Member State.
• The organisation has paid its membership fees or received a formal fee waiver.
• The nominated participant is available for the full meeting. This includes an introductory meeting during the week beginning 19 October, taking part in a substantive preparation meeting on 26 October and up to two further preparation sessions before the visit as well as the agreed work afterwards.
• The nominated participant has the travel documents required to travel to Belgium or can reasonably obtain them in time.
What we are looking for
Priority will be given to applicants who can demonstrate:
• Experience in advocacy at the local, national or regional level.
• Experience engaging with policymakers, public authorities, institutions, coalitions or relevant policy platforms.
• A clear understanding of key issues affecting the rights and wellbeing of trans people, such as asylum, gender equality, legal gender recognition, healthcare, housing, education or employment.
• Readiness to work with other selected members on shared messages, take an active role in meetings and contribute to the work arising from the meeting.
A note for members outside the European Union
We are sorry that this call is limited to member organisations based in European Union Member States. Unfortunately, the funding for this activity cannot support participation from outside the European Union on this occasion.
This restriction is not a reflection of the value of your work or your contribution to TGEU. We regret that we cannot accommodate a wider group for this meeting.
