Italy proposes new law further restricting healthcare access and privacy for trans youth

In Italy a draft law proposes to redesign access to trans-specific healthcare for trans people under the age of 18.

Together with our partner organisations IGLYO — The International Youth & Student Organisation, ILGA-Europe, and OII Europe, we have put forward recommendations and priorities to protect LGBTQI youth from cyberbullying in this policy brief.

The case was brought forward by a Bulgarian trans woman currently living in Italy who was repeatedly denied her requests to legally amend her gender marker and name on her Bulgarian documents by Bulgarian courts.
