Join our webinar: Countering Anti-Trans Misinformation – Tools, Tactics and Lessons from Across Europe
Anti-trans misinformation is increasingly shaping public debates about trans rights across Europe. How do these narratives emerge, how do they travel across borders and platforms, and how can we respond effectively?
Join TGEU and the European Fact-Checking Standards Network (EFCSN) for a practical exchange between trans and LGBT organisations and fact-checkers from across Europe.
The webinar will explore common anti-trans misinformation narratives and how they are amplified and adapted in different contexts. It will also examine how fact-checking can help identify, contextualise, and respond to misleading claims.
Speakers from fact-checking organisations and TGEU members will share insights from their national and organisational contexts. A joint exercise and discussion will follow, focusing on approaches that can be adapted to different advocacy and communications contexts.
The session is an opportunity to learn from each other, build connections between the fact-checking and trans advocacy communities, and exchange practical approaches for responding to anti-trans misinformation online.
